Why, "Change Our-Story"
History has always been criticized for focusing on the prospective of the victors, usually the white male prospective (hence His-story). Our-Story is a much more appropriate term because it is the story of the human race, not just one group. Everyone, no matter what their differences, has played a part in our-story. "Change" is in the title because our-story is made everyday and we all have a direct effect on its direction. Social studies is much more than just learning about history, it is about using the lessons from the past and our understanding of culture to make the future brighter for everyone.
